If you’re anything like me, you have a sweet spot for dessert. Cake, ice cream, pie, donuts… any type of dessert is a must. But we all know that dessert isn’t always the most macro-friendly option. So what’s a sweet’s lover to do in a situation like this? Create some hacks!

Ice cream lovers are in luck – with a variety of macro-friendly, dairy-free and low-sugar options on the market, you don’t even have to hassle with making your own. Halo Top, Enlightened and even Ben & Jerry’s are hopping on the band wagon with these waistline accommodating pints! Stock up at your local grocery story to keep your freezer full for those late-night or mid-summer cravings.

Cake, cupcake, jar of icing lover? That’s where it gets a little trickier. Although there are some options on the market for protein-packed cakes (check out Lil Buff Protein) some of you may want a more easily accessible option. Cakes can be made in a variety of flavors with a 1/4 c. of Oat Bran, 1/4 c. water, 1/4 c. any flavor protein and 4 T. egg whites. Microwave for 45 seconds (or until cake consistency). Feel free to add sugar-free syrups for additional flavoring and top with Greek yogurt or protein crumbles for a jam packed summer dessert. Dying for a container of icing? Whip 4 oz. cream cheese, 1 tsp. vanilla extract, 1 scoop vanilla protein powder & 6 T. whipped topping for a delicious icing that has only 281 calories | 48 g protein.

Apple pie lover? Try our team member, Bianca’s, favorite – hot apple “pie”. Thinly slice an apple, top with cinnamon & nutmeg, throw it in the oven for 10 minutes at 350. Add on some whipped cream before devouring!
