ALEX'S RESPONSES:
- How did you two ladies meet? How long have you known each other?
I met Whit at the gym she owns, Pro Physiques, in 2013- so I have known her for about 7 years, wow! I started as a client there, and had a different coach but would see her time to time and think "Woahh shes like a real life fitness barbie!" and I was too afraid to say much. But a few months later she went to a National show I competed at, and post show we all went out. That night we both discovered how much we had in common over a few*** (just a fewwwww ;) ) of our favorite drinks - Moscow Mules! Look at that; moscow mules building friendships one sip at a time :)
- Being that this sport can sometimes be "lonely" and hard to understand, how has having a likeminded friend in the sport helped you stay motivated/positive/etc.?
I can honestly say with my whole heart I have NEVER felt alone because of Whitney and the community she has created at the gym. That is one of the things I am the most grateful for and never take for granted; I write it in my gratitude journal almost daily. I have seen so many athletes and aspiring athletes who don't have a lot of genuine cheerleaders in their corner, and for many outsiders this sport is hard for to understand the amount of time and effort a prep takes. Having her in my corner is one of the reasons I believe I have found more success in the sport; she is the person who believed in me more than I believed in me, pushed me to do things out of my comfort zone, and motivates me on the days you are just plain beat. She gets it. Everyone needs a sparkly friend human that just gets you-someone you can have fun with, calls you out on your shit, and pushes you to be the best you. Thats Whit!
- How many Olympias have you each competed in?
This will be my 2nd Olympia and Whits 7 consecutive Olympia she qualified for; she competed in 6 due to neck surgery one year (and became a human robot..she has more metal in her neck than 2 chains has on chains) ;)
- Do you get nervous to take the stage?
Each show is different based on the energy I am feeling! I absolutely get a little nervy at some though; usually its the excited kind :)
- What's your fave and least fave part about prep and off-season?
Favorite Part about Prep: The training and how each prep it changes so much!
Least Fave Part about Prep: Not being able to eat gas station snacks when I want
Fave Part about off season: Being able to eat gas station snacks when I want :)
Least Fave Part about off season: I don't think I have one!
- What are your 2021 goals after this show?
I want to focus more on work, clients, building our online program, and also focus on things non work related/industry related more; Finding more time for family, volunteering, travel - the good stuff.
- Funny questions...
- Sweet or savory?
SWEET! I am like Buddy the Elf I will put syrup or sugar one eveything.
- Which one of you cheats on their diet more?
Bahaha EQUAL. We are legit the world’s worst dieters.
- What shoes are you each rocking on stage?
We keep going back and forth between the Olympian Mules or Iconic Olympians (with straps). We have been free birds and strapless for awhile so the straps feel like a training bra for me. They are so comfy and you can move more in the straps, but we are both taking baby steps (literally) on learning to embrace the strap change. TBD stay tuned!!
- If you could be anything outside of what you currently do, what profession would you choose?
The 'Retired' profession LOL JK! I would love to do home renovations and design.
- What's your fave activity outside of bodybuilding?
Hiking and Traveling!
WHITNEY'S RESPONSES:
- How did you two ladies meet? How long have you known each other?
Alex was a client of the gym and of course you are drawn to her because how can you not miss her fun spunky personality. But it wasn't until we went out for a post show celebration where we realized we were soulmates ~ in the most platonic fashion of course, and since then we have lived happily ever after with nonstop shenanigans, stupid human trick challenges, meme wars and of course some work throuwn in there on occasion.
- Being that this sport can sometimes be "lonely" and hard to understand, how has having a likeminded friend in the sport helped you stay motivated/positive/etc.?
Having someone who "gets it" makes all the difference, it really does. Prep is not easy but it should be enjoyable and when you have your down moments from being tired, body aching or even some self doubt, you need to have someone in your corner who slaps you back into reality and reminds you why you even got started in the first place. Perspective is everything, having support is crucial and a friend who can spot the need for a pick me up pep talk without even a word being spoken is priceless. That's what Alex and I are to each other. And it's great because being that we compete in different divisions we can bring different viewpoints to help the other out. For example, Alex will pop into the room where I'm running routine skills and she might say "wow that was cool" on a trick that I thought was pretty lame. She can offer a different insight which is so valuable because as a performer it's about the wow factor, so she provides amazing feedback of what stuff to definitely keep in the routine. And for bikini when she's practicing her posing I try to help point out what angles work so well for her because she's so natural and doesn't even realize the energy she brings to the stage so I collaborate with her on which styles I feel work the best for her in her whole routine for stage.

- Do you get nervous to take the stage?
Anyone who says they're not nervous when they hit the stage is lying, Ha! Nobody works that hard and puts in daily effort for weeks and months and hits the stage cool as a cucumber unless they're a robot. But you have to find a way to channel that nervous energy for good use to make sure you're having fun backstage and of course having the excitement to finally be able to showcase your hard work on stage. We've all seen the girls on stage who look like a deer in the headlights and it makes you sad to watch that because you just want to give them a hug and tell them to take a deep breath. You have to remember you don’t just want to look like you're having fun on stage you ACTUALLY want to have fun on stage because the judges and the audience can feel that and pick up on it.
- What's your fave and least fave part about prep and off-season?
Favorite Part about Prep: The daily countdown to the show, seeing my off season improvements as my body leans out, watching the vision of my routine come to life with the music, choreography and the costume.
Least Fave Part about Prep: Not as much time for ridiculous challenges with Alex and having to skip our regular snack attacks
Fave Part about off season: Unleashing the daredevil as I try new skills for my next routine. Gas station and fast food runs with Alex
Least Fave Part about off season: Definitely harder to get in a consistent routine when shows aren't close.
- What are your 2021 goals after this show?
Vacation, Launch new items from my apparel line FEARless by Whitney Jones, focus on building each of my businesses, more time with my 2 boys and regular girl time doing fun non work related stuff with my girlfriends and get sponsored by Oreo.
- Funny questions...

- Which one of you cheats on their diet more?
Hahaha, I plead the 5th
- What shoes are you each rocking on stage?
- If you could be anything outside of what you currently do, what profession would you choose?

Laughing, Traveling, Snowboarding and anything adrenal related
